CELTIC, Middle Danube. Eravisci. Mid to late 1st century BC. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 3.00 g, 12 h), imitating an obverse of C. Naevius Balbus and a reverse of L. Papius of 79 BC. Diademed head of Venus to right, wearing earring and pearl necklace. Rev. Griffin leaping to right; below, globe. Dembski 1547. Freeman 20 (14/J). Struck slightly off center and with some pitting, otherwise, nearly very fine.
